Meal Payment Options

Ottawa students have meal accounts. Elementary students do not carry a card, their accounts are on bar-coded class rosters and scanned at each meal.  Middle and high school students carry an ID card which is also their meal card. Any amount of money, large or small can be deposited into an account. Excess balances are rolled over at the end of each year. School district policy states that meals are to be paid for in advance so be sure your student's account does not fall behind. If a student should fall behind notes are sent home and calls are made to elementary parents.  Cashiers verbally alert students at the middle and high school as their balances start to fall low to let them know that they need to deposit money into their account. Please remind your student to listen to what the cashier tells them each day.  As accounts fall into arrears messages will be sent on outreach along with phone calls and letters from school district.  Strudents will be allowed to call home for money or a sack lunch.  For your student's well-being we suggest all students even those who do not eat school lunch keep a 2 - 3 meal balance in their account in case they should forget to bring their lunch.

Students have several options to pre-pay for their meals:
When paying for meals at school please have your student bring their money BEFORE school - elementary students take money to office
middle and high school students take money to cafeteria

Using Checks:
Parents can send a check  including student's first and last name made out to USD 290 Foodservice and send to Chartwells office.  We are located in the high school kitchen at:
Chartwells Dining Service

Using Website:                  IT'S BACK
www.ezschoolpay.com is up and running. USD 290 website payments for school meals can be made online once again.  Please be sure to take advantage of this convenience.  You will need your student's ID number (found on student ID cards or by calling school office)  Even if you don't want to make a payment online, you can access your student's account to check their balance and know when you need ot send a payment.  We hope these options are to your liking.

Using Cash:
Elementary students take to office before school in an envelope with student's name.
If depositing money into their account middle and high school students need to bring money to cashier in cafeteria before school.  Middle and high school students also have the option of paying cash by meal
